What documents should I bring to my appointment?

Whether you are recurring client or new clients the following documents are always needed:

  • Valid identification (current US gov/state ID & foreign passport)

  • Social security cards or ITINs for you or both taxpayers and all listed dependents

  • Tax forms such as W2, 1099's, list of expenses or receipts.

  • 1099G if you received unemployment 

  • 1095A if you received HEALTH coverage through the MARKETPLACE

  • Letters from the IRS such as 6419 and/or 6475 & 1444C.  

  • Bank Information such as ROUTING & ACCOUNT NUMBER or a VOID CHECK

CREATE AN ACCOUNT WITH THE IRS TO VIEW YOUR LETTERS

If you are claiming children as dependents; ONE the following documents will be required: 

  • Recent school record or statement

  • Landlord or property management statement

  • Healthcare provider statement

  •  Medical record

  • Childcare provider statement

  • Placement agency statement

  • Social service records or statement

  • Place of worship statement

  • Indian tribal official statement

I received healthcare through the Market place; do I need to report it with my tax return?

Yes, you will receive a 1095A from the marketplace and you will need that form to finalize your tax return. Withholidng this information may cause refund delays. If you did not receive a 1095a from the marketplace please give them a call at 1-800-318-2596 or login to https://www.healthcare.gov/

I did not receive a stimulus? 

If you did not receive a stimulus and you qualified you might be eligible for the recovery rebate credit. If you receive letter 1444, please make sure to bring that along with your tax documents. https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/recovery-rebate-credit

Is the EIP (stimulus) includable in gross income? 

No, the Payment is not includible in your gross income.  Therefore, you will not include the Payment in your taxable income on your Federal income tax return or pay income tax on your Payment. It will not reduce your refund or increase the amount you owe when you file your 2020 Federal income tax return.
A Payment also will not affect your income for purposes of determining eligibility for federal government assistance or benefit programs.

How long should I keep my tax records for?

We advise our clients to keep tax records up to 7 years. If you misplace a copy we can provide you with one for a fee of $35 per year for individual return and $45 per year for business returns. Please visit our "request a copy" tab to submit your request. 

What are your service fees?

Our prices are very reasonable and affordable. Most tax prerarers fees are based on the complexity of the return.  

Can I request a tax refund "quote"?

Unfortunately due to the amount of unproductive time we have spent on "quotes" we offer a tax consultation option. We value our time and our clients time so we have been forced to charge a tax consultation fee. The fee collected will be applied to your tax preparation fee if you decided to move forward with our services.
